Frequently asked questions
Please note that the cost of re-equipment can be found by calling any site for the installation of gas equipment.
The price of CNG at gas stations in Belarus is 1.06 BYN per m3.
Currently, OJSC «Gazprom transgaz Belarus» has two points for the inspection of cylinders - in Minsk and Slonim. Address, phones and working hours are presented in the section «Gas tanks inspection».
The information about other points of certification of gas tanks in the Republic of Belarus is presented in the section «Useful information».
To pass a technical inspection, you need to obtain a document confirming the serviceability and tightness of the gas-cylinder equipment, as well as the front card of the gas-cylinder vehicle, which contains information about the cylinders installed on the car. These documents can be obtained at the sites for the installation and repair of gas equipment OJSC «Gazprom Transgaz Belarus».
Refueling of vehicles registered on the territory of the Republic of Belarus is carried out using an electronic card identifier. Electronic card identifier (ECI) is an electronic chip on which all technical information about the car and its owner is entered. and receiving and coding ECI you need to contact your regional representatives.
Repair and adjustment of CNG equipment is carried out at specialized sites for the installation of CNG equipment and at CNG stations, equipped with the appropriate equipment for these works. The list is given in the section «Vehicle re-equipment» and is constantly updated. For additional questions, please contact your regional representatives.
CNG Stations of the Republic of Belarus use two types of connection. The first is a pin-type head that fits into a tee mounted on cylinders. This type of filling device was adopted in the USSR and is currently used in almost all CIS countries. For refueling Western European vehicles and gas conveyor vehicles, our CNG Stations use an adapter of the «TK1» type.
OJSC «Gazprom Transgaz Belarus» does not sell these connecting devices. At the same time, we would like to inform you that these filling devices are available at all filling points, including mobile stations.
To make your search easier, you can find GPS coordinates on the Gas stations interactive map.
Pay attention to their working time. Before you go to a Compressor-less filling station or mobile gas station (CLFS, MGS), use the contact numbers indicated on the map, check the information about CNG gas station and the availability of gas.
In the Republic of Belarus, besides gasoline and diesel fuel, two types of alternative fuels are popular - natural gas, the main component of which is methane, and liquefied petroleum gas based on a propane-butane mixture. Many people confuse them. Compressed natural gas (this is its full technical name according to official documents) is nothing more than a natural fossil, which, in order to use it in engines, simply needs to be cleaned of mechanical impurities and filled in compressed form into car cylinders. No chemical processing! Sometimes you can find what is called CNG and methane. These are equivalent concepts. CNG (compressed natural gas), NGV (Natural Gas Vehicle), Erdgas german), metano (italian) – common and related words used to designate this gas engine fuel. LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) - is a product of processing of gas accompanying oil production and is a light hydrocarbon, which is in a liquid state at a relatively low excess pressure (1-2 MPa) and normal temperature.
The main components of LPG are propane, butane and propylene, methane, ethane, ethylene, pentanes and some other gases are present in small proportions. That is why, in everyday life, LPG is called liquefied gas, propane-butane, and liquefied petroleum gas. A special feature of LPG is that it is stored and transported in a liquid state, but used in a gaseous state, i.e. it enters the engine in the form of vapor. One more comment should be added. The linear rate of consumption of LPG per 100 km is set 15-20% more than for a car running on gasoline. The norms for CNG are approximately 1:1 to the gasoline consumption. So it is more logical to assume that the cost of one liter of liquefied gas, equivalent in consumption to a gasoline car, will be 15-20% more than the price tags tell us.
Main characteristics of methane:
Characteristic | Value |
---|---|
Formula CH4 Density | 0,7172 kg/m3 |
Maximum energy intensity | 39,82 MJ/m3 |
Minimum energy intensity | 35,89 MJ/m3 |
Autoignition temperature | 595 оC |
Explosive level of methane content in air: | |
- lower boundary | 5% |
- upper boundary | 15% |
In the conventional designation of the gas tanks, their main parameters are encrypted. For example: BCM-35-19,6-265/835, where 35 – capacity, L; 19,6 – operating pressure, MPa (200 kgs/cm2); 265/835 – diameter/length, mm.
Most often, the following types of gas tanks are used for re-equipment:
- metal-plastic (JSC «Kotlas Electromechanical Plant»)
BCM-35-19,6-265/835 – 25 kg
BCM-50-19,6-265/1150 – 35 kg
BCM-50-19,6-325/817 – 36 kg
- all-metal (OJSC «Orsk Machine-Building Plant»)
BT-53-20-220/1652 – 53 ± 2,71 kg
BT-51-20-252/1262 – 51 ± 2,71 kg
- carbonic (JSC «Pervouralsk Novotrubny Plant»)
50-19,6-219/1755 – 93 kg
- alloyed (JSC «Pervouralsk Novotrubny Plant»)
50-19,6-219/1660 – 62,5 kg
The payback of the re-equipment is calculated based on the prices of the replaced type of gasoline and methane. In the calculation, the equivalent of the consumption of gasoline and gas can be taken as 1:1. That is, 1 liter of gasoline is equal to 1 cubic meter natural gas.
The payback time depends on the average annual mileage.
Practice shows that it is very beneficial to re-equip cars or buses that work as taxis, «duty» cars and energy-intensive vehicles.
Those who do not consider it profitable to re-equip old cars that are planned to be written off in the near future are mistaken - they will not consume less fuel from this. When calculating that if the car will work for about 2 years, this equipment will pay off, and rearranging it to another vehicle is a relatively inexpensive procedure.
